His version went like this:
Happy Birthday to you!
Happy Birthday to you!
Happy Birth--day, dear Lisa!
Happy Birth--day to yooooo!
All righty....
And then he said, "See? See?" meaning "See, I remembered!"
And, I could tell, he was so proud of himself for remembering! So I didn't say a word about the, um, you know, "Lisa" part.
It is the thought that counts...

Happy Birthday Diane!!!!! LOVE Bob's song!
Happy Birthday Diane. Nothing at all wrong with Bob's rendition. For him to know the date and it being your birthday a tremendous accomplishment.
Lots of hugs & prayers for you both.

Diane, happy birthday! I hope you and your beloved husband, Joe, had a fun day.
Happy Birthday, Diane! Diane, Lisa-Bob loves you, whatever your name is :)
Wow. That IS some accomplishment.
Lolz. Happy Birthday baby! Priceless gift for sure! :-D
Happy Birthday, Lisa! A double accomplishment for Bob and a blessing for you. BTW who is Lisa? Therapy is working.
Happy Happy Birthday Diane

His sister is Lisa. Maybe he was just a little confused.
Hey Anon, I certainly know that Lisa is the name of Bob's dead sister--- this is not Bob being "a little confused" -- this is aphasia, i.e. brain damage --- and also the reason he calls a dog a "cat" and calls his neck "fingers" I mean, hello? It's brain damage, not being "a little confused" --- And BTW who are you? Please sign your name.....
And, on another note, Barb --- LOL, I will take Joe to pain management tomorrow! thanks for the laugh
And thank you everyone for your birthday wishes! I do appreciate it!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! Think Bob did a great job. I enjoy reading all of your posts. Hope you had time to enjoy your day!! Thinking of you guys always. Love you Ed & Neta
I hope you had a great birthday. Love that he sang to you and remembered your birthday! More than many, many husbands manage.lol
Perhaps 'confused' was the wrong word. I struggled to find the right word at them time and knew 'confused' was not what I was looking for. Thank you for correcting me. I am truly sorry. I didn't know Lisa had passed. My apologize for that as well. I lost your personal email address, Diane, but I don't post my name for reasons we discussed in the past. Just know that I enjoy reading your blog (love your style of writing) and have been rooting for you and Bob every step of the way. Sincerely, A friend from long, LONG ago.
