Hi Diane, just checking on you, how things are going? You haven’t posted anything lately, you must be busy. We love you, please let us know how you are doing. Yadira
Oh no!!! I am so sorry to hear this. Had she been ill? I only knew Diane through her blog, but I've been reading it for about four years or so. I was hoping to read her memoir. My condolences to all who knew her.
What sad news. I also only knew Diane through her blog. As a caregiver her blog was a comfort and helpful resource. She was a talented writer. My condolences to her family and friends. Also thinking of Kona and Ripley
Hi Jenn, it is with a shocking surprise that I’m reading the passing of Diane, I’m a caregiver as well and we have been friends (never met in person, but talked over the phone and email over the years), what happened? She is going to be missed by many. Finally Bob and her are back together.
Diane has spoken of many wonderful connections she has made through this blog. Mid February, via other health circumstances, Diane found out she had stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Crazy, huh? After she passed, little Ripley joined her. He, too, was quite ill. Thankfully, Miss Kona has found a loving home with a dear friend of Diane's. From the bottom of my heart, I'm thankful for this blog and the people Diane met along the way. I know it was a comfort to her, too. ~ Jenn
Thank you for the update Jenn. It must have been awful for her to get that news.
A couple days ago, I wrote on here that I'd been following her blog for 4 years or so. I'm not sure what I was thinking since it must have been more like nine years. When I first started following her blog, she was caring for Bob and doing all that paperwork towards the settlement.
If there is a death notice from the newspaper or online, could someone post it here? I've been hearing about her life for about nine years, and yet I don't even know her last name...
Glad to hear she found some comfort from her blog.
Lynne ~ Nothing posted on FB, but it was my understanding she left off her last name purposely from the blog. If you're comfortable with posting your FB user name here, I'll contact you that way. ~ Jenn
Hi Jenn -- Sure -- I think I'm the only Lynne Langhammer Conover on Facebook. Perhaps you could send me a friend request first. I think sometimes messages from someone who is not one's friend on FB can be hard to find. Thanks so much -- Lynne in CT
Is there an obituary for Diane online? I’d been searching but nothing. At last she is with the love of her life and soul mate. Thank you for the update on Kaona, I’m glad she found a loving home. Yadira
Thank you Jenn for the update, I’m glad her wishes were fulfilled. Do you know what is going to happen with her blog? Her blog is a story of love and endurance, that had helped a lot of us in our journey.
Hey Kid, It looks like no one posts here anymore, so it is probably a safe place for me to tell you things. My brother found out from some obscure place that you passed on. I told him you died of cancer. But really I believe you died of a broken heart. It has been many years since I lost you. I still miss you and I always will. Maybe by God's grace, we will meet again. -L.
Kid, Thought about the dream I had us meeting again in heaven. I thought of the song we both would remember from an old 78RPM (ca 1917) "Till the Boys Come Home" I tweaked the lyrics a bit to fit the dream.
"Keep the Home-fires burning While your hearts are yearning Though we are far away we dream of Home.
There's a sliver lining Through the dark cloud shining Turn the dark cloud inside out Till we are called Home. Miss you -L.
Hey Kid, This blog is very quiet. Much like a graveside, without the sky, the trees the singing birds. Every time I visit I leave cyber flowers at this cyber grave. -L.
