Moved bedroom furniture from dining room into an actual bedroom -- whoa.... I know it doesn't sound like much, but a very HUGE step for me..... (as you probably know my bed etc. was in the dining room to keep an eye on Bob, whose medical bed, equipment, etc. was in the living room) -- and then this "bedroom" was going be Bob's therapy room, planned on getting parallel bars, maybe a Nu-step and hire a PT to come in weekly.... So all Bob's clothes were in the closet and the door has been closed since he died....
So a BIG step for me, first emptying his clothes out of the closet, going through his clothes, crying, they went into boxes -- just stored aside -- then painting the room -- the paint job that was there was a for shit job, you could see where spots were missed, etc. Painted it a grayish blue (very calming color) Then planning the whole thing, hanging curtains and shades .... not sure if I wanted to, not sure what to do with dining room, not sure, not sure.... but finally did it --- hired a guy to help me move furniture.. and a day spent "decorating" i.e. hanging pictures, etc.... so it is now my bedroom.
More on this, and maybe some pictures, later. Right now, I am exhausted.
And Ripley doesn't want to sleep in the "new" bedroom, though Kona does follow me wherever I go, I have to call her to bed --- but miss my Rippy-dips... in bed at night.

I want to know how you’re sleeping. Does it feel welcoming? Do you have some pillows and plush bedding to welcome you? Have you been able to get a full night’s sleep?
Proud of you, How is the writing?
Stephany, first night was weird --- didn't realize Kona would take a running jump to get into bed and this room is smaller so she just stood there with her chin on the bed trying to figure out how to get up -- but then she is smart, she backed up to the door and got her running start and onto the bed --- then it was sort of spooky, new room and claustrophobic and kept waking up every hour, kept hearing "weird sounds" ... second night better...Kona has gotten the hang of getting on the bed but still had to track Ripley down, catch him and drag him to bed. Now I'm getting used to it.. sleeping well, but Ripley -- still have to track him down, catch him, drag him in bed, he will stay awhile, but in the morning find him sleeping in our "old bedroom" on a chair or table.... Too late to turn back now.. baby steps....
But bedroom is cozy, calming and welcoming.. now I got pictures etc. up, feels good.... now just have to convince Ripley to join us...
Wow, you should be very proud of yourself! This was a BIG deal, and you did it!
That wasn't a baby step, but a huge step forward for you. WTG!
Cats are strange creatures. They hate changes of any sort. Ripley will come around eventually. But it's got to be her idea. Dogs are smart and dumb at the same time. But once they figure out how to do something, they're fine.
