How will you observe the day? I do nothing special to observe Garys birthday . But I do some imagining what our life would be like if he were still here, and what our life would be like had he had some recovery from the stroke.
Today I made his favorite breakfast, watched (i recorded) the 200th episode of Pit Bulls & Parolees, his favorite TV show, made me feel like he was there, watching it with me. Then took Kona for a drive by our old neighborhoods, where we used to live. The first has changed so much! Where "The Corner Boys" used to hang out with their boombox and beers, is now a pricey condo complex, etc. but our old place still there. Parked and walked the neighborhood, just remembering. Then to the second place we lived, the Apt. Complex I managed for free rent, not much changed, went to the lake where we used to walk to and feed the birds... Savoring memories of good times. Then I got in the car and damn dash lights up like a christmas tree! Warning! Warning! Got home, freaked out. Bubba's supposed to pick up the car Tuesday, to see if he can fix it... hope it will get me to a doctor's appt. before that.
Prior years, I have gone antiquing like we used to do, pre-stroke, and bought him a birthday gift. Everything closed now because of Covid....
